Update late fee amount based on amount due and not original amount after partial payment

We process late fees as a percentage and if an invoice has been partially paid the late fee is still calculated by the original invoice amount rather than the amount due. I would like to suggest that the amount calculated should be based on the amount due rather than the original amount.
