Deposit payments without estimates
Need the ability to received deposits on account without using estimates for customers with open AR. Currently deposits on customer accounts can be processed without estimates if the customer has no open invoices. Need the ability to accept deposits as unapplied payments even if there is open invoices.

Les Paul Lopez MergedCurrently the system only allows us to process credit card and ACH payments for the exact balance of the customer's open invoices with no option to collect an overpayment and create a credit. We can only process a payment and create a credit if there are no open invoices for the customer. Some companies have customers that often want to pay an open invoice with an advance / overpayment amount to be used as credit.

Jared King AdminWe recently released the ability to accept advance payments from customer in the customer portal, even if they have an open A/R balance. This feature can be enabled in Settings > Customer Portal. In addition, on your end as a seller you can also accept or process advance payments through the Receive Payment screen. TraciWe wanted to utilize this feature, but it became an issue for us because the advanced payments were reflecting as credit balances rather than payments under the customer account and would not sync over to Quickbooks Desktop.
